We must remember that this performance depends a lot on the quality of your equipment, especially on the software. But here we will tell you a couple of things you should know about FPS.
Why does Fortnite give me FPS drops?
FPS drops or Stuttering as some call it occurs in order to stay online and playing in optimal conditions. They are actually the consequence of a failure of some component of your equipment.
The causes can be:
- Overheating of components in your PC: Quite likely when playing Fortnite for many hours at a time, as your computer's processor, or graphics card, can overheat and slow down performance.
- RAM memory or VRAM card with insufficient capacity: having little capacity, the processes that are active in the background make our PC system not work properly, until the memory of the video card is freed, and many times the problem cannot be solved by freeing a little bit of memory. space, but by purchasing new, higher-capacity cards.
- Low capacity in the cores of the PC: When the system of our PC does not have a sufficient number of threads in process, at least those that Fortnite needs, FPS drops will occur, due to a deficiency in processor resources.
- System components are not working properly: It occurs when the elements of our PC work out of sync, that is, one component performs much more than others. It is commonly called Bottleneck.
